I spoke to an agent and explained my situation and that I only signed up for one month. But I was being charged for a larger subscription. I told her if I had misread when I signed up, I apologize, and she said it normally takes several weeks until it is documented and done, but they are no longer charging me, and they have canceled my subscription.

I did not authorize the charges that were charged to my account. I authorized a free trial.
In one report, I got charged almost $200. I need these charges removed immediately because they were not authorized. I've called and emailed with zero reply, call back, or response in any way.
You scam people out of money for public information. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I would give them a zero if I could. When my mother was on hospice, wanting to die at home, I needed help.
I met a caregiver on Nextdoor that could help me. I needed to do background checks on several caregivers. I signed up for what I thought was a one-time check, but apparently, they continued to charge my card. When I called to cancel and to explain what it was used for and if I could get a refund, the person explained there is fine print and they do not allow their services to be used for someone that is being hired.
Not even for this purpose! How they expected me to read the fine print when my mother is dying is beyond absurd.
The agent told me they only do checks on people of your past, not for anyone you should wish to hire. This is deceptive, and they are a predatory company; you should not use their services.

TruthFinder is blatantly deceptive. They charge around $35 a month, then lock actual search results behind yet another upgrade.
When you try to cancel, they tack on an extra $21+ fee just to get out. The entire setup is designed to extract more money, not provide value.
Predatory pricing, hostile cancellation, and absolutely not worth it. A total rip off!

False report on my criminal history report tha is causing major problems for me
I am upset TruthFinder is saying I have a matijuana charge on my record. That is absolutely not true.
I had to submit a request and pay by money order to get a copy of my true record.
This has caused a lot chaos in my relationships and my job, and serving in my church. Mortifying and damaging.

No response to repeated requests
- Old phone still gets codes, blocking login on a new device.
- Bot-driven support failed; they must resolve by 8pm EST or charges will be disputed.
The phone I used to open my account was destroyed in January. When I used a new phone to access my account, they kept sending a code to the old phone.
I emailed, tried to open live chats, called an actual telephone number and had to argue with a Bot, who suddenly started dropping or forgetting my information and would have to begin the process for whatever she was doing over and over again, until I got disgusted by the obvious distraction ploy and I hung up.
Then I sent a screenshot that I wrote my complaint on, and said I'd accept half of the money they took from me if they'll cancel me today.
If they don't like that plan, I'll dispute every charge since January, since I had no account access and no help accessing my account. They have until 8pm EST to make their choice.
User's recommendation: I'd look elsewhere for information or contact avenues. This company had many of my former addresses & phone numbers but the active dates were SO way off! The didn't have my ex-husband as family or in my circle, but they put my ex's current wife as a connection to me. WTH? And they got most of my vehicles wrong...plus they missed some more than minor legal shenanigans. They simply do shoddy, half-assed lazy research for WAAY too much money. I'd do my own research next time I want to find anyone.

Sounds like someone didn't bother to read the terms of service that they agreed to nor did they read any of those boxes before clicking them. They tell you when you start looking up people that you can't use this garbage for employment, renters etc.

If you didn't bother to read the terms of service, I'm sure you didn't bother to pay attention their plan to charge you again and again. IF you want your money back, call your bank but know that they may not side with you.
